Brand Review: This Little Goat Chili Crunch - Versatile Heart Healthy Topping

The MOST versatile, heart-healthy umami sauce you will ever use! Put it over ANY meat, veggies, or carbs. Guaranteed to enhance any dish! It's hard to find a "goes over anything" sauce that also fits a low sodium/heart-healthy diet. A little dab of this goes a long way!

Story: The first time I picked up this little jar from World Market, I completely devoured the whole jar within 3 days. Yes, it is THAT good. I put it over my asparagus, my husband's udon noodles, fried rice, and baked chicken. (I may have also sampled a couple teaspoons from the jar itself while my husband wasn't looking.) It was only after I finished the jar and was desperately scouring online for more that I realized that this sauce was created by Stephanie Izard, the owner of my husband and my favorite restaurant in Chicago, The Girl & The Goat. Wow! Small world.

Taste Test: It's really no wonder that this sauce is so good; the dishes at The Girl & The Goat have so many dimensions. This sauce is no different. While other sauces may have only one dimension like salt, umami, or sour, this sauce has it all: savory, spice, nuttiness, tang and texture. No other self proclaimed "heart healthy" sauce can claim that! It keeps your dishes complex without having to buy a ton of ingredients. I'm always amazed at how the vinegar in this sauce brings out the characters of the other flavors. A perfect medley. With the blend of flavors, there is a low sodium need. That is why 2 teaspoons is only 110mg of sodium!

How to Use it: Honestly, over anything. When I'm lazy, i'll just pan fry some healthy veggies (broccoli, asparagus, carrots) and just toss with 2 teaspoons of this delicious sauce. Done! If you have a slab of fish or chicken, just cook up the meat, slatter the top with this sauce and add over rice. Done!

(And no, I am NOT paid by This Little Goat to be their sauce peddler. I'm truly a fan of Stephanie Izard's restaurants and sauces!)
